*an abbreviation of the Greek word "Υγεία" (Hygeia >hygiene),  meaning "health". Hygeia was a goddess in Greek mythology, the daughter of Asclepios (God of healing) and the sister of Panacea (She who heals all pains). In Greece we use the word "geia" as a greeting  and a wish to the other person for good health)

"I could not live in any of the worlds offered to me — the world of my parents, the world of war, the world of politics. I had to create a world of my own, like a climate, a country, an atmosphere in which I could breathe, reign, and recreate myself when destroyed by living. That, I believe, is the reason for every work of art."

~Anaïs Nin

it's all Greek to me

Mathematics, physics, astronomy, democracy, philosophy, sports, theater, are only some of the words of Greek origin, and morphemes /components such as anthropology, photography, telephony,  etc that we use in everyday life. Greek along with Latin languages are the basis of scientific and technological vocabulary internationally, with many Greek endings and words present in international terminology. There are thousands of Greek words in English and other European languages that you are using constantly without knowing it.
